The celebration of Benin’s Independence Day on August 1, 2025, in Washington State was a memorable occasion that brought together the Beninese community in a spirit of unity, pride, and friendship. One of the highlights of the event was an exciting soccer match organized between Beninese residents who have lived in Washington for more than five years and those who have been in the state for less than five years. The match was filled with energy, teamwork, and friendly competition, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. Beyond the game, the celebration showcased the rich culture and strong bonds within the community, reminding everyone of the importance of preserving their heritage while building connections in their new home.
